A Bengaluru girl has secured second rank in the all India common merit list of the NIFT 2018 exams. Sirigowri Kambalimath, stands first in the list of general merit students.

Sirigowri Kambalimath stands second in the common merit rank list.

The DQ Labs Student Sirigowri Kambalimath, a student of Sri Kumaran’s Children’s Home, Mallasandra, had been honing her creative skills since the last year. "I am really surprised, I knew I did well, but didn’t expect this rank. Feeling overwhelmed and thankful," said the topper.

This topper is yet to decide on where she would study next and is keeping her options open.

Preparing with the help of previous papers helped her. "I prepared for both NIFT and NID. Practicing to sketch during free time has helped me improvise," she said speaking to DH.

Gowri dreams of working for a Hollywood movie studio of repute and is hoping to pursue Fashion Communication couse. The 17-year-old is, however, yet to choose between Delhi and Mumbai NIFT.

"Over the last couple of years, we have seen her creativity bloom and reach finer levels. Over 25,000 students had taken the NIFT exam and she has come 1st in the General Merit. She has a very bright future," said Umesh Kumar (B.Arch, M Des IIT Delhi) Co-Founder of DQ Labs.
