City girl wins national brain bee contest

Gayathri Muthukumar, Class 11 student from National Public School, has made the City proud, bagging the first place in the seventh Indian National Brain Bee (INBB) final held in Mumbai on Sunday.

The competition saw participation of 12 students from across India in the grand finale.  The students were winners of regional Brain Bee competitions held in their respective cities.

Gayathri walked away with a trophy, a laptop and a certificate of appreciation. She would be sent on a paid trip to Washington, DC, to participate in the 16th International Brain Bee finals scheduled from August 7 along with the 122nd American Psychology Association Convention.

Brain Bee is a quiz competition on neurosciences for students who have exceptional credentials in biology and have an interest to pursue careers in healthcare. This contest is conducted on a regional level and subsequently the winners in these levels contest in the national competition.
