The CM was addressing a ‘thanks giving’ ceremony organised by the Kannada film industry to honour him for enacting a stringent law to curb piracy.

The film industry had been demanding a law that can crush the piracy industry, which has hit the entertainment industry hard.

Responding to the demand for sites for the poor workers in the film industry, the Chief Minister said he could not assure it but would certainly give a serious thought after consulting with his cabinet colleagues and secretaries of the department concerned.

He also assured film actor Ambarish, who is the president of Artists Association, to consider providing funds for constructing a building for the Association.

A remix of the popular Kannada number ‘Ninnindale....’ was dedicated to the CM for framing the law. Short plays based on the impact of piracy won many accolades. Cine stars, Ganesh, Pooja Gandhi, B Saroja Devi, Sahukar Janaki, Jayanthi, Ambareesh, Sumalatha, Vishnuvardhan, Shivrajkumar, Puneeth Rajkumar, Upendra and Ramesh Aravind and other actors added glitter to the event.
