Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy directed BBMP officials to be on high alert during the monsoon season.

During a meeting on Monday, the chief minister instructed the officials to take necessary preventive measures to tackle rain-related problems in the city and ensure citizens are not put to any hardship. The Palike officials briefed the chief minister on measures taken to avoid a flood-like situation in the city.

Kumaraswamy instructed them to specially monitor the low-lying areas and take steps to prevent waterlogging and flooding of drains and roads. To this, the officials said most of the potholes have been filled and work on the remaining is under way.
