Minister for Health and Family Welfare Aravind Limbavali has set a November deadline for completing the construction of 250-bed Government Tuberculosis and Chest Diseases Hospital in Indiranagar.

Speaking to reporters after inspecting the progress of work on Wednesday, he said the work on ramp, lift and compound should be completed at the earliest. The Rs 40-crore hospital will have all the facilities of a district hospital. It shall also have state-of-the-art equipment, he added.

The construction of the hospital, which started in 2008, was slated for completion on February 2011. However, the project has been delayed by a year, he added.
On the rise of dengue cases in the State, Limbavali said the government has taken up awareness programmes on a war footing.
