The deceased, Shah Nawaz (25), was attached to Yeshwanthpur police station (Law & Order) and was staying at a rented house in Moodalapalya. He was unmarried.
According to the police, the accident occurred when Nawaz was standing on roadside near a flyover at the Yeshwanthpur Circle. The driver of the bus (route number 271B) lost control on reaching the flyover and hit Nawaz. The bus driver escaped after the accident.
Nawaz hailed from Honnudike village in Tumkur district. He had joined the police department in 2005. He was serving in the Yeshwanthpur police station for the last two years.
