The Government’s draft delimitation shows Ashoknagar ward near Hanumanthanagar near Basavanagudi area while the Ashoknagar police station is near the Brigade Road.
G N Nayak, Deputy Commissioner of Bangalore Urban District said, most objections are related to shifting of areas from one ward to another, naming of wards and dividing the area in an ‘unscientific way’. A complaint from Thurahalli village states that the village has been included under Uttarahalli ward while the BDA-approved layouts like Jayanagara Housing Society and BHCS Layouts in the same village area have been included in the Rajarajeshwari Nagar ward. Another complaint is from the Kothanur unit of Citizens’ E Welfare Forum who are upset over the division of Kothanur into three wards namely- Gottigere, Kothanur and Horamavu.
