Deputy tahsildar caught taking bribe in Hoskote

The Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested a deputy tahsildar while he was accepting bribe in Nandagudi sub-registrar office on Friday.

The official, K Gowtham, was caught red-handed accepting a bribe of Rs 25,000 in the sub-registrar office in Nandagudi.

A person had purchased agricultural land in Shivanapura of Nandagudi hobli, Hoskote taluk, and got it registered. But another man from the same village filed an objection against the registration of the agricultural land.

The tahsildar of Hoskote taluk directed Gowtham to look into the matter.

Gowtham summoned both the parties for negotiation of the deal.

He told the owner of the land that he would talk to the person who raised objection, and demanded bribe of Rs 35,000. But he refused to pay the amount. Gowtham settled for Rs 25,000.

A complaint was filed in the ACB and a trap was laid. The deputy tahsildar was caught red-handed accepting the money.
