The exhibition, which was started 13-years-ago in a small way with only 30 exhibitors, will be accommodating more than 125 jewellers this time. There will be an exciting range of gold and diamond jewellery, gems and rubies.

On display at the exhibition will be the classic kundan and meenakari designs from Jaipur, temple, antique and ethnic jewels from Chennai, designer wear, custom-made jewels from Mumbai, original Burmese rubies, silver artifacts from Barton and Gujarati-style handcrafted gold jewellery.

For the first time institutions like Metals and Minerals Trading Corporation of India (MMTC), the largest importer of gold in India, which also has its own jewellery brand, and the Gemological Institute of America (GIA) are also taking part in the exhibition. “This time, we have shifted our venue to the Bangalore Palace, Palace Grounds to provide more space and convenience, both to the exhibitors and visitors. The venue also has ample parking space. So this time, the shortage of space has been taken care of very well. This being the festive season, it is the time to shop for jewellery. The expo has grown bigger this year in terms of space, brands and designs,” informs Sandeep Bekal, convener of ‘Jewels Of India’.

T A Sharavana, President of Bangalore South Jewellers’ Association, says that as this is the right time to invest in precious metals, the expo offers an excellent opportunity for people.

“The expo will be bringing the unique craftsmanship of every state under the same roof.
So customers get a chance to explore a variety of designs and can compare the patterns.”
Lakshmi Gopalaswamy, the brand ambassador of ‘Jewels of India’, is of the opinion that the expo with its traditional as well as modern designs is a special occasion for every woman.

“As a customer myself, I am looking forward to exploring some great jewellery from different parts of India. Women of all ages can shop here for their favourite patterns. Considering the credibility and increasing popularity of the show, I am honoured to represent them as the brand ambassador,” says Lakshmi.

Mahesh Pati, President, Bangalore Jewellers’ Association and Pratap Kamath, CEO, Abharan Jewellers, were also present on the occasion. The expo will be held in the backdrop of Bangalore Palace and visitors can enter the venue from Mount Carmel College entrance, Vasanthnagar as well as from Jayamahal Road, next to Fun World, between 10 am and 8 pm.
