The unit was inaugurated by Rotary's District Governor M N Suresh.  The facility came up following the signing of a MoU between the Rotary Club and the Rajarajeswari Medical College and Hospital. Set up in 1993, the health centre offers medical aid to residents of Channasandra. Once a sleepy village, Channasandra has come a long way ever since it was included in the Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) limits.

Following this, the hospital was upgraded as a urban health centre. Since October 1 last, Rajarajeswari Hospital is running the health centre. According to Nalini Nanjundayya, Rotary Club's Director of Community Services, Rajarajeswari Hospital will provide Preventive, Promotive, and Curative (PPC) health services.

Accordingly, the hospital offers treatment for diabetes, hypertension, heart diseases, and eye ailments. Besides, general health check-up, Electrocardiography (ECG), and out-patient facilities are available. Beside, the hospital has six beds for day care.
