One can’t really associate Malashree with any other role because she loves to do only one kind on screen.
In her latest venture Shakti, she portrays a character of strength. “I play an ordinary woman who displays a lot of courage and determination on screen. While many may preach non-violence, I believe in taking Netaji’s route, that every person is entitled to certain rights and there’s no harm is fighting to get those rights,” explains Malashree.
The veteran actress says that she was really impressed with the storyline and was keen to complete the film which is produced under the banner of Ramu Enterprises. “I have lost a lot of weight for the character. I wanted the character to appear as natural and ordinary as possible. For instance, even if I beat up someone on screen, it must appear realistic. I want my characteristics of boldness, strength and courage to inspire the weak-hearted,” she adds.
Malashree and her husband Ramu have always encouraged and promoted new talent and Shakti is being directed by new director Anil Kumar. “My husband is a film distributor and knows the market very well. He can judge what films will click among the people and what won’t. I hope this film will go down well with the people,” Malashree observes.
The other actors in the film are Vinay Prasad, Sadu Kokila and Radhika Gandhi to mention a few. “Each character has a substantial role to play. The large cast has added to the prominence of the film,” she wraps up.
