Four-year-old Naveen’s condition is stable, say doctors. The boy - severely injured when attacked by a pack of stray dogs - underwent facial reconstruction surgery on Saturday.

Naveen sustained severe injuries on his nose and cheek when he was bitten by a stray dog near K P Agrahara off Magadi Road, on Friday. He underwent facial reconstruction surgery at 9am on Saturday and is doing fine, say doctors. “The patient is stable but is still undergoing treatment,” said a senior doctor at the hospital.

The four-year-old is being treated by a team of experts at the hospital. Soon after the incident, he was attended to by maxillofacial surgeons, pediatric surgeons, pediatricians and other medical staff.

“The boy was brought to us severely wounded late in the evening on Friday. Family members claimed that they rushed the boy initially to Victoria Hospitals and as they did not have immunoglobins, he was brought here,” said a doctor treating him.

Mayor N Shanthakumari said that compensation would be given to the victim’s family after his treatment.
