A press release said that drives will be conducted against vehicles that emit excess carbon monoxide and hydro carbon, as they cause air pollution. Offenders will be booked under Section 190 (2) of Motor Vehicles Act 1988. Action will also be initiated to suspend the registration certificates of vehicles or permits under Section 53 (1) (a) of the same act.
