A stolen LPG cylinder lorry turned turtle after the driver, who was in an inebriated condition, lost control of the vehicle near Anepalya Main Road on Tuesday night.

According to the police, Riyaz Ahmed, stole the lorry using a duplicate key and made away with the vehicle. He was in an inebriated condition while driving and lost control of the lorry when he was negotiating a turn near Anepalya Main Road.

He suffered minor injuries and is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
He had planned to sell the LPG cylinders and abandon the vehicle.

The lorry rammed into a tempo, a car and an autorickshaw, wrecking all the three vehicles. Some labourers who were sleeping on the road had a narrow escape.

The vehicle belongs to a gas agency in Anepalya Road.
The driver of the lorry employed by the gas agency has been identified as Abdul Syed. He came to the spot and approached the police.

There was no leakage from the vehicle, which was carrying around 200 cylinders. Ahmed is being questioned by the police. Cases have been registered.
