Over 400 Durga Puja pandals were set up across the city. The Durga Puja pandal at Halasuru saw one of the largest congregations on the occasion with people from all communities participating in the event. More than 200 members of the Bengali community gathered for the idol immersion in the afternoon. Speaking to Metrolife, Shubhendu Ghosh, life member and former president of The Bengalee Association, said, “We are very happy with the flawless arrangements made by the GBA. The police have been on their toes and have helped us immensely.”

Police personnel from stations in the vicinity were deployed at Ulsoor lake for bandobast duty. “We have been here from 9 am and will be here until late night to ensure the immersions are carried out safely and smoothly. We have also deployed traffic wardens,” said a traffic police officer from Frazer Town limits deployed at the spot.

The GBA had arranged for cranes to lift the idols and immerse them in the middle of the lake.
