A 25-year-old man was electrocuted when he was decorating an electricity pole for Eid-Milad, near a mosque in KG Halli, on Sunday.
The deceased has been identified as Syed Irfan, an electrician and a resident of Vinoba Nagar. Irfan had climbed an electricity pole around 2.30 am to tie buntings when he suffered an electric shock and fell down. His friends rushed him to a nearby hospital but the doctors declared him brought dead, the police added.
They then alerted the police, who sent the body for post-mortem.
