The Bangalore Urban district administration on Saturday recovered five acres and 34 guntas of pasture land (Gomala) worth Rs 40 crore in Byrathi village of Bidarahalli hobli in Bangalore East taluk, by clearing encroachments.

According to a press release, local residents had filed complaints alleging encroachment and a court had also directed to clear the encroachments on pasture land. A squad led by Bangalore East tahsildar Dr B R Harish demolished sheds and houses constructed on the gomala land.
