The Palike officials had to face stiff resistance from the occupants who belonged to the economically weaker section. After evicting them, the Palike fenced the lake with barbed wires.
Farm developed
A farm on one acre and 10 guntas of land was developed encroaching the tank bed of the 27-acre Abbigere Lake.
The Palike officials cleared the encroachment and fenced the land. However, the owner of the farm was not identified yet, officials said.
