A 23-year-old engineering graduate died after crashing his motorcycle into a footpath and a tree on New BEL Road on Monday night.

Pritish Gowda, a resident of Ulsoor, was riding home when he lost control over his bike after reaching New BEL Road around 10 pm and crashed it into a footpath and then rammed a tree. He collapsed and suffered severe head injuries and died.

Brought dead
Passersby took him a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead.

Police visited the spot and found the helmet lying there but it is unclear if Gowda was wearing the helmet or it was hanging from his elbow. Passersby said he was speeding and had lost control over the bike.

Job search
Police said Gowda had been looking for a job after graduating in engineering.

A case has been registered at the RT Nagar traffic police station.
