An unidentified man duped a woman vegetable vendor to the tune of Rs 12,000 by issuing her colour photocopy notes of Rs 2,000 at KR Puram market on Sunday.

Nandishwari, a flower vendor from Andhra Pradesh was taken for a ride from a man who purchased vegetables from her. On noticing that Nandishwari had huge money, he gave her six notes of Rs 2,000 denomination and sought change. An unsuspecting Nandishwari gave him change for Rs 12,000, the police said.

Later, she went to a textile showroom for purchasing clothes. But the store owner refused to accept Rs 2,000 notes from her saying they were fake. On a close examination, it was found that they were colour photocopies. Nandishwari has lodged a complaint.
