The farmers had come from Davanagere, Belgaum, Chamrajnagar, Bijapur and Mysore raised slogans against the CM and government. General Secretary of the Sugar Cane Growers Association Tejaswi Patel said “We are requesting the government to implement the SAP Act. Let there be a committee involving representatives from farmers, factory and State government. Based on the sugar recovery, its by-products and profits, the rates are to be fixed for sugar cane.” The Chief Minister has called a meeting in this regard on Wednesday.
