Love for a girl ended in murder of an 18-year-old youth in Mudalapalya on Wednesday night. The deceased, H R Mahendra, 18, was a resident of Pattegarpalya.
He was a pani puri vendor near his house. The police, who acted swiftly, arrested Girish and Janardhan for murdering Mahendra. Girish and Mahendra were in love with a girl staying at Pattegarpalya. The duo had fought a few times over the same. Around 5.30 pm, the duo picked a fight, but local residents intervened and calmed down the two, said the police.
Mahendra was riding pillion on his friend Niranjan’s bike around 8.30 pm at Pattegarpalya. Girish and his associates accosted the bike at Trimurthy Circle and attacked Mahendra. The victim was shifted to a nearby private hospital, where he failed to respond to the treatment and died in the wee hours of Thursday morning.
Based on a complaint, the police picked up the suspects from their houses on Thursday.
