Police said a person identifying himself as Rajesh had called the actor on his mobile phone on November 12 evincing a keen desire to act in films. The caller requested Yuvraj to come near Navrang Talkies to discuss a few things. When the actor arrived, he was suddenly assaulted by four unidentified persons. While one of them slashed his cheeks with a knife, the others hit his legs with machetes. The actor is now recuperating at a hospital.
Police said the identity of the assailants and the whereabouts of Rajesh is yet to ascertained.
