Industrialist and Biocon founder Kiran Mazumdar-Shaw, who earlier had an online spat with D K Shivakumar over Bengaluru's bad roads and garbage issue, on Friday appreciated the Karnataka Dy CM for "cleaner footpaths and asphalted roads" across the city.
The businesswoman posted on X praising Shivakumar for "rescuing" Bengaluru from the "weight of garbage debris and potholes".
"We are finally seeing visible change in cleaner foot paths n asphalted roads across the city. @DKShivakumar your leadership has been key in rescuing our city from collapsing under the weight of garbage debris n pot holes. Please continue to drive this important development. Credit is also due to @GBAChiefComm. Let’s build a worldclass city through collective civic responsibility @BPACofficial (sic)," Shaw posted on X.
Shaw had last month started an online fight with the Congress leader flagging bad roads and the issue of garbage disposal in the city.
On October 13, Kiran had written on X, "I had an overseas business visitor to Biocon Park who said ‘Why are the roads so bad and why is there so much garbage around? Doesn’t the Govt want to support investment? I have just come from China and can't understand why India can’t get its act together, especially when the winds are favourable?"
"We are in this dire situation because of past govts failure to act in time. This government has the opportunity to change this and act fast to fix these decades of deteriorating infrastructure and garbage management," she had added.
The Congress government in the state had reacted strongly to it with Shivakumar accusing Shaw of "tarnishing" the state's image for her "personal agenda".
The comment drew sharp responses from members of the state government, including Shivakumar, Patil, Santosh Lad and Priyank Kharge.
However, the feud was later resolved with a meeting between the two, following which the Dy CM had posted on X saying that he had an "engaging discussion" with Shaw on Bengaluru's growth.
