Former cricketer Sunil Gavaskar said on Wednesday that Satya Sai Baba spread love, affection and mercy towards everyone and people should follow his ideals.

Gavaskar was speaking after inaugurating the mega Satyasai Premamritam auditorium at the Satyasai village of Muddenahalli in the taluk.

People should shun hatred, the cricketer said. Saibaba used to fill people with self-confidence and courage whenever they were in crisis, the cricketer said.

Baba believed that inner devotion, commitment and concentration were very important, he added.

B N Narasimhamurthy, founder of the Satyasai Lokaseva Trust, said that the auditorium - built at a cost of Rs 30 crore in a span of just nine months - is spread over 62,000 square feet. A total of 14 industrialists from Singapore came together to construct the auditorium, Narasimhamurthy said.

The tastefully designed auditorium can seat 10,000 people. A book, ‘A life in service,’ on Baba was released on the occasion. Online radio channel Sanatanavani was also launched. Cricketer G R Vishwanath and others were present.
