“The funds are being used without any reasoning or logic. Without an elected council in place, the funds are spent with no one to question them,” said Ramachandrappa.

The former mayor claimed that money was being diverted from the actual projects they were allotted for. “Under the IT/BT roads, the Government is now sanctioning the JnNURM scheme funds for tarring the same roads,” he alleged.

In the last two years, Rs 150 crore has been spent on building four major Storm Water Drains (SWD) which have been left incomplete, claimed Ramachandrappa. In all, over the past two years Rs 500 crore has been spent by the Government without any justification for most of the projects taken up under the JnNURM scheme.

Specifically, the former mayor claimed that the packages meant for the M G Road and Koramanagala streets were being used without any discretion for other roads including those in K R Puram and other areas.
