The Future Earth South Asia Regional Office, hosted at the Divecha Centre for Climate Change, Indian Institute of Science (IISc), has launched a two-day webinar starting Thursday as part of its community-driven knowledge-to-action programme in South Asia.

The web conference will address issues related to food and water security and health risks associated with pollution in South Asia.

The Future Earth office said the webinar will highlight best practices in India and South Asia that need to be publicised and scaled up.

On day one, nine eminent scientists, policymakers and practitioners will deliberate on how the gaps between science, policy and practice can be bridged in the quest for sustainability.

The second day will address agro-ecology in the Indian Himalayan region, health risks associated with air and water pollution and the consideration of the water-energy-food nexus, the release said.
