The driver of a goods vehicle was killed in a freak accident in Peenya 4th stage on Monday. The deceased has been identified as Gopal Reddy, 26.
On Monday afternoon, Reddy delivered a consignment to a company in Peenya 4th Stage and parked his vehicle on the premises of the company. He had placed a stone to front wheel to prevent the vehicle from moving forward.
When he returned, Reddy removed the stone and the vehicle started moving, pushing him towards the gate. He was sandwiched between the vehicle and the gate, and sustained severe injuries. Though he was immediately rushed to a nearby private hospital, he was declared brought dead.
