When the BBMP sought a direction from the Urban Development Department on the action to be taken against ‘corporator’ Muniratna, it received a reply stating that it should initiate action against ‘contractor’ Muniratna.
The contractor appears to have received a temporary reprieve but continue to be the corporator for now.
Already, the BBMP has filed a case against ‘contractor’ Munirathna in a police station and charge-sheet has also been filed in the court.
Munirathna is facing charges of building faulty foundation of the wall that collapsed on a rainy June 1 night killing Sanjana Singh. Three agencies that probed into the matter including Lokayukta had held him responsible for the wall collapse and recommended legal action against Munirathna.
