Bengaluru: The Karnataka government has collected over Rs 51 crore by settling 19 lakh traffic fines under the ongoing 50 per cent discount scheme.
The scheme was announced on August 23 and will continue until September 12. It applies to traffic e-challans only.
The government has collected Rs 51,28,22,400 by settling 18,52,874 traffic fines, H Shashidhara Shetty, District Judge and Member Secretary, Karnataka State Legal Services Authority (KSLSA), said in a statement on Monday.
On September 13, the KSLSA will hold a National Lok Adalat across the state to deal with traffic e-challans, the statement added.
