Govt schemes: Pvt hospitals may lose empanelment

The state government is planning to cancel the empanelment of private hospitals which are refusing to treat patients under government schemes, according to Health and Family Welfare Minister K R Ramesh Kumar.

Speaking to reporters here on Tuesday, the minister said that several private hospitals were offerings treatment in rural areas.

Dr Ratan Khelkar, executive director, Suvarna Arogya Suraksha Trust, told DH that as per the demands of the Private Hospitals’ Association, committees have been constituted to look into their demands.

Dr Madan Gaekwad, president, Private Hospitals and Nursing Homes’ Association, said the association members were not treating patients
under state government schemes yet.
