Sentinel Hack, a state-level day-long hackathon, was organised at the KS Institute of Technology last week to give students a platform to showcase their coding facilities and solve the problems of the cyber world.
Curated by the college's computer science and engineering department, the hackathon was attended by 189 students in 54 teams from colleges across Karnataka.
Dr K N B Murthy, vice-chancellor, PES University, inaugurated the event while Y Ramachandra Naidu, president, Kammavari Sangha, presided it over.
Technocrats of BNMIT bagged the first prize with a cash award of Rs 25,000 while Cifrado of SJBIT came second and walked away with a cash prize of Rs 10,000. Fungus Boys from JIT walked away with the third prize and a cash reward of Rs 5,000.
