In a Habeas Corpus petition, Basavaraj, brother of the missing person, had moved the High Court seeking directions to produce his brother, who went missing on January 1. According to the petitioners, the Basavanagudi police had taken his brother Ramesh in connection with a case to the Palakkad police station in Kerala. Both the brother and the car have been missing since then.
The petitioner further said that several attempts to know about his whereabouts were met with evasive replies, and sought directions to produce him before the Court.
The division bench headed by Justice Shreedar Rao has ordered notice to the State Home Department, DG and IGP, City Police Commissioner, Basavanagudi police and others.
