The High Court of Karnataka on Wednesday directed state JD(S) president H D Kumaraswamy to approach the bench which granted him anticipatory bail. The former chief minister prayed for modification in the anticipatory bail order in the Janthakal Enterprises case.
Kumaraswamy has asked for relief from appearing before the investigating officer of the Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing illegal mining cases, once every 15 days, due to his weak health condition.
Kumaraswamy was granted anticipatory bail by Justice Rathnakala in a case registered against him by the SIT for the alleged misuse of his power in the mining case.
Earlier, Justice Rathnakala had directed him to appear before the investigative officers every alternate Monday for investigations.
Justice R B Budihal, who was hearing the case, asked him to appear before Justice Rathnakala through video conferencing.
The matter was adjourned to Friday.
Anil Lad case
The High Court of Karnataka allowed MLA and businessman Anil Lad to travel to China between October 25 and November 4 on the condition that he will surrender his passport to the CBI on November 7.
Anil Lad is accused in a case of illegal mining. According to CBI sources, Lad's company 'VS Lad & Sons' supplied 15,000 tonnes of illegally mined iron ore to Shree Mallikarjun Shipping Pvt Ltd which belongs to Karwar Independent MLA Satish Sail.
