The head master of the government higher primary school in Gujjepalli village of the taluk is accused of raping a student of his school.
The crime came to light after an anonymous call was made to the deputy director of Women and Child development department, Muniraju, on Monday.
The officer, who swung into action immediately, went to the house of the girl along with personnel from the district child protection unit. After obtaining information from her parents, the officer admitted the girl to the government hospital in Bagepalli.
Duggappa, the teacher, is absconding.
