Homemaker, painter end lives

A homemaker allegedly committed suicide by hanging herself at her home in Jakkur Layout, Yelahanka police limits on Monday morning.

According to police, Manjula, 28, was married to Narayanswamy, a cab driver for six years. The incident came to light on Monday morning when family members found Manjula hanging from the ceiling, police said.

Police said that on Sunday night, Manjula locked herself up in the drawing room after her husband and children went to sleep, and hanged herself. Yelahanka police have registered a case.

In another incident, a 21-year-old youth died after consuming poison in Nehrupuram in Bharathinagar police limits on Sunday.

Police said Arvind, a wall painter, had reportedly called up his friend on Sunday evening to tell him that he would consume poison as he was unable to bear stomach ache. When his friend reached his house, he found Arvind lying unconscious and rushed him to a nearby hospital where he died. No death note was found, police said. A case has been registered.
