Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) officials have acquired the land belonging to Horticulture department for widening Bannerghatta Road.

The civic body has undertaken the road widening work from Jedi Mara junction to Koli Farm for a stretch of about 7.50 km.

In order to continue this project, the Palike has acquired close to 18,000 square meters for the project.

The work involves widening the existing 12-metre road to 45 metres to ease the commuting on this stretch.

The remaining private properties that have been identified for land acquisition will be taken over by offering Transferrable Development Rights (TDR) to property owners, according to a press release by the BBMP.
