Hundreds pay tribute to 'Amma' at her house

Thousands of people from all walks of life, including Sandalwood actors and politicians, paid their tribute to Parvathamma at her Sadashivanagar residence.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda who paid their last respects to her at her residence said she was the woman behind Rajkumar's success. Gowda said Parvathamma was the divine force of the Kannada film industry. Union Minister H N Ananth Kumar paid homage to Parvathamma and said, "She is a great producer and was Rajkumar's strength.’’

Mallikarjun Kharge, leader of the Congress in the Lok Sabha said, “She was a role model for all women. I pray that God gives strength to the family to bear the grief and pain.”

BJP senior leader S M Krishna, Mayor G Padmavathi, Cabinet ministers D K Shivakumar, K J George, T B Jayachandra and Dinesh Gundu Rao, and JD(S) leader H D Kumaraswamy also visited the Sadashivanagar residence and met the bereaved family.

Stars express grief

Sandalwood actors visited Parvathamma's residence and some took to Twitter expressing their grief. Actress Sudharani, who visited the Sadashivanagar residence, termed Parvathamma as “the mother of Kannada film industry”.

Actress Leelavathi and her son Vinodraj  paid their last respects. "Let her soul rest in peace. I pray that God gives strength to her children to bear the grief and pain,” said Leelavathi. Actors Ravichandran, Ganesh, Yash, Sumalatha, Ambareesh, Malashree, music director Hamsalekha, V Harikrishna, Karnataka Film Chamber president Sa Ra Govind and others were present.
