The police are on the lookout for a manager of HDFC Life, an insurance firm, who has reportedly fled with Rs 10 lakh cash collected from public as insurance premium.

According to the police, Vishalakshi Bhat, manager of HDFC Life, BTM Layout branch, has fled with the money recently and is not reachable, since then.

The police said that they received a complaint from a person, whose identity cannot be revealed, who alleged that he had paid the manager Rs 10 lakh cash towards premium payment couple of weeks back.

When the complainant tried to contact the manager to find if the money was paid, the mobile phone was switched off and was not reachable in the office.

The complainant, who had lost all hopes, approached the Madiwala police and registered a complaint.

“We have spoken to a few officials at the bank and are collecting information about the manager. We are also trying to analyse the call records to track her down. Her family members were also contacted and have no clue about Bhat,” said a senior police officer.
