IRCTC on Friday announced the launch of a southern circuit of its luxury train, Maharajas’ Express, from July 1.

The train, with a capacity of 88 guests, will depart from Thiruvananthapuram on July 1 and terminate at Mumbai, covering the Chettinad region, Mahabalipuram, Mysuru, Hampi and Goa. While the eight-day, seven-night luxury tour costs Rs 5 lakh per person, the Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) offers a complimentary ticket for a cabin.
