The 33-year-old Irish woman, who was allegedly molested by an elderly person in the AC lounge at the City railway station on Thursday, was discharged from KC General Hospital on Friday morning.

The woman flew to Kochi immediately, said the police.

Considering sensitivity of the case, the Southwestern Railway (SWR) officials downplayed the incident and ensured measures to make her feel safe and secure. The SWR footed her air travel bills and ensured she flew from the Kempegowda International Airport at 8.30 am.

The SWR also refunded the train fare from Bangalore to Ernakulum as she had made the reservation by a train leaving Bangalore at 5.30 pm on Thursday, said the police. Senior officers also visited the hospital to enquire about her health.

Kashinath, 61, from Davangere, allegedly molested her on the pretext of offering her a shawl at AC lounge on Thursday. The railway police nabbed him within half an hour of incident.
