Talking to Metrolife, Virat says that after the World Cup (WC) he is more charged than ever. Ask him if there is any fatigue after the WC and he says, “I don’t worry too much about that. I am looking forward to playing more and more cricket.”

The IPL for this young lad is a whole new platform and an opportunity to showcase the confidence that he has gained from being a member of the World Cup winning team. “There was a lot of pressure to bring home the cup but now that we have achieved that, the pressure is off and it’s time to enjoy the game,” he says.

Virat say he enjoys the music, glamour and the screaming crowd, which are so much part of the IPL. “I don’t think these are distractions in any way. It is the fourth season and we are all used to it by now,” he says.

Talking about his team, Virat says that it has a great combination of youngsters and international players this season. “Not too long ago, I was actually playing against some of them and now we are all together in one team. It’s a nice feeling but the most challenging thing would be to able to gel well as a team in such a short span of time,” he adds.

The RCB players have had time to bond both off the field as well and Virat says that his wish of playing with captain Daniel Vettori has also been fulfilled. “I have always looked up to players like AB de Villiers, Dilshan and Vettori. I still remember during the first season I really wanted to play with Vettori and now that it’s happening, I’m so excited. Getting to know these guys at a more personal level is something I will not forget,” he signs off.
