The programme was inaugurated by Justice V Kameshwar Rao, Acting Chief Justice of the High Court of Karnataka, alongside Justice Sreenivas Harish Kumar and Meenakshi Negi, Principal Chief Conservator of Forests.

The event began with planting of saplings and watering — a step towards encouraging environmental conservation.

Meenakshi motivated the audience by citing the 1995 Goda Varman environmental case as an example of citizen action.

Justice Kumar remarked, "If a clean environment is our fundamental right, then to keep the environment clean should be our fundamental duty."

In his address, Justice Rao expressed concern over alarming plastic waste projections and urged people to preserve and heal the world. "We must unite and work together to provide a clean environment for the next generation," he added.
