A flurry of activity across the City to raise awareness among the people on conservation of water marked the World Water Day on Saturday.

From children, drawn from various schools, taking part in colouring competition at Bal Bhavan, on Save Water for My Tomorrow, and participating in a cycle rally, under the aegis of Water Literacy Foundation, to college students giving away empty pots of ink, carrying the message — No Lake, No Water — under the banner of the United Way of Bengaluru, formed part of the activities.

A memorandum was submitted to Governor H R Bhardwaj seeking strict implementation of Rainwater Harvesting (RWH), soak pits in lawns and gardens owned by the government, prevention of using potable water for flushing, among others.
