KPSC staffer held for taking bribe

Lokayukta police arrested a Karnataka Public Service Commission (KPSC) employee red-handed while accepting bribe from another government employee.

The complainant is Faizi, First Division Assistant at the office of Ramanagar Zilla Panchayat.

Police said Faizi had written an internal examination (SAS Part-2) and was awaiting the result. To convey the examination result, Siddaiah, Section Officer KPSC, demanded a bribe of Rs 10,000.

A senior police official said Siddaiah had demanded the bribe on Monday morning and Faizi immediately lodged a complaint. A trap was laid and the accused was arrested while accepting the bribe in the afternoon
