Bengaluru: Hundreds of devotees thronged ISKCON Bangalore to celebrate Sri Krishna Janmashtami at Hare Krishna Hill, Vaikuntha Hill and KTPO in Whitefield on August 15 and 16.

The two-day event included abhishekas, aratis, chhappan bhog, pushpanjali seva, pallaki utsav and jhulan seva for Lord Krishna at all three venues. There was a special offering of 108 delicacies.

ISKCON Sri Radha Krishna Mandir at Hare Krishna Hill and ISKCON Sri Rajadhiraja Govinda Temple at Vaikuntha Hill were decorated with lights and festoons, creating a vibrant ambience marking the commencement of the Janmashtami festivities.

Among those who attended the celebrations were H Muniyappa, Minister for Food and Civil Supply; Jaggesh, Rajya Sabha MP and Actor, and Muniraju, MLA. Actors Shruti, Dhruva Sarja were also seen amidst the crowd. The event at KTPO, Whitefield, with cultural performances like dance, music, and shloka recitations received a massive response. However, the highlight was the musical performances of Carnatic singer Sid Sriram and Sadho the band.

Madhu Pandit Dasa, President of ISKCON Bangalore, said, “We were happy to receive lakhs of devotees to the Janmashtami festival. Devotees from all over the world enthusiastically participated in Swagatam Krishna, our digital celebrations. We thank all our donors, well-wishers, volunteers, administration and everyone who facilitated a smooth movement and efficient management of the crowd."
