Several voters were denied of an opportunity to enter the poll booth at the last minute at Government First Grade College in KR Puram as political workers gatecrashed into the premises.

Five minutes before the gates were closed, scores of Congress and BJP workers barged into the college premises claiming that a JD(S) worker had been let inside. Meanwhile, the police at the poll booth gave a final call for voters who were standing near the gate to come inside soon if they wanted to vote.

Pointing fingers at each other, the political workers entered the polling booth and a heated argument ensued between them and a police constable on duty at the booth.

The police had to force the crowd out, by which time most voters were denied of the opportunity to exercise their franchise as the polling hours came to an end.
