The Department of Public Instruction (DPI) is yet to decide on the legality of certain sections of Orchids The International school. This, after the Law department sought some clarifications from the DPI in the matter.

An official from the DPI told Deccan Herald, “The Law secretary has asked for more clarifications from the DPI regarding certain details. The matter is likely to be sorted out by tomorrow,” said the official.

Another official from the office of the DPI, Bangalore North, in whose jurisdiction the school falls, said that the matter would be decided on Wednesday.

After the rape of a minor girl in the school, it was found during inspection that the pre-primary section and classes 6 and 7 did not have proper permission.
However, after a few days of closure, the pre-primary section opened last week, and classes 6 and 7 resumed on Monday.

Several meetings on whether to allow the school to function or not was held between the parents and the department, but they were not able to come to a conclusion.
