Central Crime Branch (CCB) sleuths on Thursday closed down three lodges that allegedly doubled up as brothels.
The police had secured an order under Section 133 of the CrPC and Section 18 of the Immoral Traffic (Prevention) Act to close down Srinivas Deluxe Lodge on TCM Road, Cottonpet; SLN Lodge on Binny Mill Road, and Citizens Lodge, Lady Curzon Road, Shivajinagar. This is the first time that police initiated the magisterial action under Section 18 of the ITP Act in Bangalore in the recent past.
The CCB said it had planned to initiate similar action against other places that doubled up as brothels.
