Lokayukta cops raid two govt officials in B'luru

The Lokayukta police on Monday raided the houses of two government officials in Bengaluru for disproportionate assets.

The officials raided were Y Bharatesh, deputy superintendent of Excise (vigilance) and M Jayaram, senior motor vehicle inspector of the Transport department.

Police said Bharatesh was found to be possessing disproportionate assets worth Rs 86 lakh (102 per cent). Jayaram, working at the RTO in Jayanagar, was found to be owning disproportionate assets worth Rs one crore.

“Bharatesh is a resident of Annayappa Block in Seshadripuram and has immovable assets worth Rs 65.99 lakh. He also owns movable assets worth Rs 60.57 lakh. Jayaram is a resident of Udayanagar in Chikkalasandra and possesses immovable assets worth Rs one crore, including three sites in Bengaluru and 18 acres of land in Kanakapura. He owns movable assets worth Rs 14.40 lakh,” an officer said.
